Ways to strengthen mosquito net joints
Connectors in the corners of wooden frames for mesh can be reinforced with L-shaped metal plates and rectangular, corrugated wood screws or dowels. If the connectors come loose, disassemble the frame into parts, re-glue and strengthen in one of the presented ways. Miter connectors are best
reinforce with tiles, mounted at right angles to the connector. Hardwood pins are used to reinforce contact or pin connectors. Drill a hole in the joint surface, as for the screw, and trim the pin to a length slightly shorter than the depth of the hole. Along the dowel, cut a groove that allows you to squeeze out excess glue, and then glue it in place. After the glue dries, fill the hole and sand the surface. Paint the surface with a protective layer of paint. Check the frame regularly, to state, that the joints hold firmly and that all screws are in place.
Angular tile
Contact connectors can be reinforced with a metal angle plate screwed to the frame.
Rectangular tile
Tiles of this shape are suitable for strengthening the corners or for holding the central strip.
Wood screw
Long screws hold both parts of the connector. Make a recess for the head of the screw, which you will later putty.
Miter connector
Miter connectors can be reinforced with a corrugated plate for reinforcing connectors.
