Double glazing
Single glazed windows cause the loss of approximately 10% heat from the room, Subsequent 15% escapes through the cracks around windows and doors. The direct result of this is not only unpleasant coldness, but also the phenomenon of condensation, caused by the contact of warm and moist air with the colder surface of the glass or metal frame.
This is both unsightly, as well as dangerous, because condensing steam can destroy the paint and cause rotting of the wood.
Double glazing solves both of these problems.
It consists in fixing two panes in the window instead of one. Second pane, and, above all, the air space between the panes, protects against heat loss. Nowadays, insulating glass is used. In our climate and on high-rise buildings, three-pane windows should be used.
Window with insulating glass
Hermetically shemetically bonded glass has two advantages: are "warm” and- unlike other types of double-glazed windows – eliminate the phenomenon of condensation. The space between the panes is sometimes filled with gas at the factory and has heat-reflecting properties.
You can buy an entire window with hermetically insulated double glazing, however, it will be cheaper to replace single windows with double. Insulating glass units are made of various types of glass in standard sizes, you can also order unusual glass from the manufacturer. For windows with extremely deep frames, you can buy special glass with profiled edges.
