Types of windows
Swing windows
Most often they have wooden frames, are produced in many standard sizes. They are often equipped with a barrel at the top or bottom of one of the wings.
Sliding windows (vertical)
These are elegant windows, easy to clean and provides good ventilation. Their disadvantage is frequent jamming and noisy opening. In modern sliding windows, weights are no longer used, but a special arrangement of springs, which makes them less unreliable. They are also available in a version with double glazing.
Tilt windows
Because these windows can be completely washed from the inside, they are very practical, especially on the upper floors. However, they have a fundamental disadvantage: they can be opened with one push, therefore, they are not recommended for apartments, where are small children.
Louvered windows
Windows of this type consist of narrow, horizontally arranged glass tiles, usually embedded in a metal frame. They are connected to a mechanism that allows you to open and close all the windows with one movement of the lever. The louvered part is usually the only moving part of the window.
Sliding windows (horizontally)
Some modern sliding windows open horizontally. This solution is most often used for complete terrace windows with wooden frames, aluminum or plastic. Windows of this type are most often double-glazed.
French windows (Terrace)
Double-leaf, glazed doors are often referred to as French windows (French window). The most common type of closure is the upper and lower latch moved by one twist of the handle, or latches, running along the entire length of the door and sliding into the recesses in the upper and lower parts of the frame.
